Really had a moment this morning while exercising. Kind of emotional. I was listening to music which I don't always do. (I read, mostly.) I just really appreciated my health, my body as it seems to respond to this new challenge. I love this! I love the morning exercise. It's so great to have it done....but more than that. It's almost a form of prayer....maybe some of the thousands of readers of this blog out there understand. Maybe just me. IDK. Anyway, I am very grateful. Thanks, God. Thanks to me for getting my ass up and doing this. 4 days in a row, now and I have lost 5 of the holiday pounds. Not the real pounds, but the holiday pounds. The real pounds show up in about 5 more. THEN we hit the challenge!
BRING IT!

Day 3
I have worked out for the third morning in a row starting at 6am. It is WONDERFUL to have the exercise of the day taken care up right up front. I am also using MyFitnessPal app on my phone to count calories. It is WONDERFUL to have those extra calories in the bank when I add up the food for the day.
So far it's all good. I am getting a very good head start on the program. SOBRIETY COMETH!

The plan--take 2
Big Start date: 1-08-12
I have a weight goal in mind of 187.9, or less than 188. The idea is to average 190, so that implies swinging 188-192.
The Plan...
1- Alcohol sabbatical until we hit the weight goal. No free days....just save up the desire and channel it into exercise and nutrition, etc.
2- Daily food / exercise log. Still trying to decide between LoseIt, or My Fitness Pal. Pros and cons? MFP has more “moral support” with Govy and Jr. LoseIt, of course, is familiar and now can scan. Anyway....might do both and decide later. Keep a word doc style journal as you go...just to stay motivated.
3- Morning exercise....Starting Monday the 9th....getting up early...that’s why we are starting on Sunday before. Big workout, but then bed EARLY! Then Gazelle before work. 30 mins in the zone. And the idea is workouts in the morning before work. I won’t be up late with drinking, so just go to bed. Observe the changes in my body without the dehydration and extra calories that booze causes.
4- Listen / read Younger Next Year every day until I hit the weight goal. The morning workout is a great time, but the trip to work is good also. Just during Ticket commercial breaks would easily do the job. 15-20 mins?
5- 100 oz of water every day. More with exercise.
6- Multivitimin. Every day. Let’s get through all the Pharmanex ones even though they are past expiration.
7- Meal substitues. Shakes, Slim Fast, whatever. Need them at the office and at home.

PS- the Boobs kicked around the idea of a mileage total of 2012 in 2012. VERY aggressive...maybe we aim for 1500? Or just see how close we can get.

My first step into a larger world
Hello?
Is this thing on?
Worked out this morning. 30 minutes in the zone....602 calories burned.
Threw frisbee with Jay yesterday morning at 6am. It was cold and dark, but we were just nuts enough to do it.
So, that is the deal. Getting up and exercising during a window that I should almost always have available. 2 days in a row so far. 2012 is looking up!
